Tales of the Space Age: four builds with room to rearrange

LEGO 21340 makes retro space imagery into four independent postcards, so sharing the build need not mean sharing one unfinished ship.

Choose a set of images

The strongest reason to choose Tales of the Space Age is its form: four small brick-built postcards rather than one large vehicle. An observatory, moon-base scene, shuttle and black hole turn space into graphic subjects. LEGO’s design announcement credits Jan Woźnica and identifies classic science-fiction posters and book covers as inspiration. This fits someone who likes the imagery of space on a shelf or wall, even when operating a vehicle is not part of the request.

Four instruction booklets change the shared build

Each postcard is physically independent, and the set provides separate instruction booklets. A group can therefore take responsibility for different finished pictures within the same set. Afterwards, the four can connect in any order or appear separately. That is useful when the pleasure is comparing everyone’s part and then composing a sequence together; it does not require treating the same brick inventory as several alternative models that replace one another.

Let the arrangement stay open

LEGO describes both freestanding and wall-hung presentation. Start with the arrangement that gives the four images a relationship you enjoy, then allow it to change. The pink-and-purple postcard also has star elements that the product describes rearranging into named constellations. These small choices suit someone who wants a compact visual composition to revisit, rather than a single finished object whose only remaining decision is where to put it.
