Three dates belong on the page
A preorder can involve a manufacturer's expected release period, a seller's stated dispatch date and the day you need the item. These are separate entries, not interchangeable versions of one date. Write them on different lines. If the only information available is an estimated quarter, do not quietly convert it into the first day of that quarter or an arrival promise for a birthday.
Read the estimate as an estimate
Good Smile US explains that its preorder release periods are estimates and may change when production is delayed. That is a reason to revisit the relevant official page, not a reason to invent a more precise forecast. Save the page address and the date you checked it. When an update appears, amend the record while keeping the earlier note so the change remains understandable. If two people are waiting together, agree who will check the next update and which change would make you reconsider the plan.
A marketplace offer has its own commitment
eBay's presale policy requires presale labeling and a stated availability-to-ship date, alongside its shipment requirements. Check the current policy and the particular listing together. An official announcement elsewhere does not supply missing seller details. Ask who is shipping, from where, and what the handling statement actually covers. A reference preview on another website is neither an eBay presale listing nor a reservation of stock.
Give an occasion an alternative
For a fixed celebration, decide in advance what happens if the item is not ready. You might choose an already available alternative, offer a clearly described future gift, or postpone the choice until the recipient can participate. Avoid presenting a wishlist screenshot as an order confirmation. A thoughtful explanation of the intended gift can be more considerate than a confident date that nobody has actually committed to meeting.
Check the decision again before paying
Reopen the offer rather than relying on an old browser tab. Confirm the edition, payment schedule, current dispatch wording and the seller's applicable change or cancellation terms. Keep the final record with the order if you proceed. This is a planning method, not a prediction that a particular Miku figure or Pokémon collection is currently on preorder. Their status must be checked at the actual selling destination; an editorial product card does not establish it.
