Choose the learning activity you want to share, rather than assuming a box with more cards is automatically the more considerate beginner gift.
What the smaller introduction supplies
The My First Battle product record lists two seventeen-card mini decks, two playmats, a rulebook, coin, counters and six Prize tokens. It is a deliberately reduced first encounter, not a standard sixty-card deck waiting to be padded with any spare cards. Consider it when a short, clearly bounded introduction is the point. Keep its own rulebook with its components so the simplified system is not mixed accidentally with another box’s lesson.
What the 2024 Academy is teaching
Battle Academy 2024 lists three complete sixty-card decks featuring Armarouge ex, Pikachu ex and Darkrai ex, plus two tutorial guides, a two-player board and a rulebook. The extra deck gives a documented alternative after the first pairing; it does not turn a two-player lesson into a three-player match. Choose this route if both learners want to work through the fuller deck-based game and use its guided sequence.

The three named decks in this comparison identify the 2024 box. If an offer merely says Battle Academy, have its actual year confirmed before using these contents to plan the lesson. Keep the selected year beside the tutorial materials so another person helping you does not prepare from a different box’s description.

Ask who will read the cards and who will explain the instructions. An English product record does not establish that the particular box includes Chinese instructions; a separate German official page is also an edition reference, not proof of multilingual contents in one package.
