The interesting part need not be the last step

This standard Plannosaurus Tyrannosaurus asks you to build a skeleton before fitting the outer parts. The dated launch release explicitly allows enjoying the skeleton as a display state. That is a particular reason to choose it over a finished dinosaur sculpture: you can be interested in the structure that would ordinarily disappear inside the completed animal.

Give that intermediate stage some attention. Follow how the body, neck and limbs become a connected form before deciding how to present the outside. There is no need to rush through the feature that made the kit attractive simply because the outer dinosaur looks more recognisable in a product picture.

Feathers are a modelling option with a research context

The exact product includes optional feathered outer parts. Bandai’s December 2022 release places these choices in the research framing used for the series at its launch. It is reasonable to enjoy comparing how the outer form changes; it is less reasonable to treat a commercial kit as the final answer to every scientific reconstruction question.

Keep this January 2023 standard model distinct from a product labelled Tyrannosaurus 1915. A historical reconstruction is a different subject, not merely a colour alternative. The exact standard listing is the one supporting the parts described here.

Choose the kind of making you want to keep

Bandai says nippers and adhesive are not needed, lists a display base and describes articulated parts. Its launch specification gives an overall length of about 210 mm. Those properties make the kit worth considering for someone who wants a manageable subject to assemble and examine, rather than a large completed centrepiece.

The deciding attraction is the making, especially the skeleton stage and the choice of outer interpretation. If you only want the final silhouette on a shelf, assembly may add work you did not want. If the structure itself is the reason for your curiosity, leaving time for that stage gives this model a clearer purpose than simply adding another dinosaur to a collection.
