The same case family can start with general divider choices or three defined lens pockets. The kit decides which arrangement earns its space.

Pelican 1535 or 1535AV: the camera-specific interior is not automatically the more useful one
SANJIESAN original concept scene, not a product photograph.

A mixed kit needs a flexible starting point

The regular 1535 Air offers different selected interiors, including no foam, foam, padded dividers and TrekPak. A creator carrying an irregular mix of camera parts, recorders and project objects has a reason to examine those choices rather than start with a layout designed around somebody else’s lens kit. “1535” by itself does not specify which interior will arrive.

The AV version makes a particular commitment

1535AV combines custom-cut foam with TrekPak and specifies three lens pockets, each 3.5 inches in diameter and 5 inches deep, plus three accessory compartments. For a lens-heavy kit matching that organisation, the predefined places can be the attraction. For an object with a very different shape, those same places may occupy space that does not serve it. The word “camera” is a layout decision, not proof that every lens fits.

Keep the shell and the organisation separate

Choose AV when its actual pocket structure matches the gear you want to organise; choose a suitable regular 1535 configuration when a different layout is the point. The published shell dimensions do not describe the clear space left after every insert. Pelican also tells travellers to check the airline’s exact requirements. A useful camera-oriented interior and permission to bring a particular packed case aboard remain separate questions.
