Decide what you want your hands to do
Nendoroid Doll Hatsune Miku and Nendoroid Hatsune Miku 3.0 invite different kinds of handling. Here the choice is between dressing a small doll and arranging a sculpted figure. The Doll is a small articulated body wearing separate clothes; 3.0 presents Miku’s familiar costume through sculpting and paint. Choose between arranging a wardrobe and changing a moulded figure’s expression or parts, rather than treating one as an automatic upgrade to the other.
Read this particular Doll’s clothing list
The January 2024 Doll rerelease lists a top, skirt, arm covers, underwear and knee-high boots. The boots contain magnets, and the package includes a magnetic base and an articulated stand. Good Smile states an approximately 140 mm height and a character-specific skin colour. Those details identify a particular dressed figure; they do not establish that every separately sold outfit or replacement body will fit it.
A sculpted sleeve is a different interest
The 3.0 feature page discusses the shirt’s sculpted wrinkles and paint based on KEI’s illustration. It also describes specially formed sleeve arms and interchangeable expressions. If you enjoy the costume’s silhouette but do not want a clothing-changing routine, that is a meaningful reason to favour the moulded figure. Conversely, photographing a different fabric outfit is an activity the standard sculpted shirt does not promise.
Keep the support in the plan
The Doll page explicitly says it does not balance on its own and asks the owner to use its included stand. Magnetic soles are therefore not permission to discard every support. Keep the base, stand and spare hands associated with this exact release. Before selecting a second outfit, look for the maker’s compatibility and care guidance instead of assuming the shared Nendoroid name answers fabric handling or fit.
Choose a routine, not a larger number
A Doll suits someone who wants the garment itself to be part of the hobby. Miku 3.0 suits someone whose interest is the painted character design and documented part changes. Ask which activity you would willingly repeat after the first photograph. For a gift, a useful question is whether the recipient already enjoys handling small garments, rather than whether they like Miku’s face. Then shortlist the exact Doll rerelease or the exact 3.0 edition, without adding a wardrobe just because it exists or expecting cloth behaviour from sculpted costume parts.
