Which castle should remain after the making?

If one of these buildings already matters to you, that connection is a good place to start. Metal Earth's Himeji Castle MMS055 and Premium Series Osaka Castle ICX109 preserve different landmarks; they are not simply two sizes of the same subject. If either would be welcome, their listed dimensions reveal a more concrete choice between the objects that will remain on the desk.

The smaller object is not the one with fewer sheets

Himeji is listed at 7.2 × 6.9 × 6 cm, built from three sheets. Osaka is 10.59 × 6.2 × 8.99 cm, from two. On those dimensions, Himeji offers a lower model with an almost square footprint. Osaka is taller and extends farther along one horizontal axis, while its other horizontal measurement is slightly smaller. The latter is therefore a different proportion to make room for, not merely a larger number in every direction.

Himeji is the more direct choice for someone who wants a compact, low architectural object. Osaka offers a taller presence in a longer rectangular footprint. That is a comparison of the manufacturer's dimensions, rather than a judgment of roof detail, finish or historical accuracy from an enlarged photograph.

Two sheets does not establish an easier afternoon

Metal Earth assigns both kits the same Challenging label and recommends ages 14 and above. Its own ratings therefore give no basis for choosing Osaka as the easier option simply because two is less than three. Sheet count alone does not tell you the number or intricacy of the connections. Neither listing establishes how long an individual builder will take.

Choose Himeji for the particular castle or its compact near-square form; choose Osaka for that landmark or its taller rectangular presence. If a genuinely easier first build is the priority, these two matching manufacturer ratings do not provide the distinction you need. This is a specification comparison, not a hands-on assessment of either assembly.
