An object can carry the character
A cloud does not need a film, game or elaborate costume to become a character. Jellycat’s Amuseables collection introduces familiar things through personification, from a peach with a personality to a grinning croissant. Cloud A2CL belongs to that idea: the starting point is an ordinary object, while the maker supplies a little fictional life around it. That makes it an interesting alternative for someone who likes character objects but does not collect a single entertainment franchise.
Read the biography as a story
The current official Cloud page calls the character Stratto and imagines an optimist who can find a silver lining in a delay or a puddle. Its “life coach” role is part of that make-believe biography. Enjoying the joke does not require believing the toy will change a mood on demand. If you give it to someone, a short personal note about an ordinary shared moment can carry more meaning than promising that a cheerful character will make everything better.
A small preference matters
Choose this kind of character for someone who enjoys anthropomorphised everyday things. A person whose collection centres on exact game costumes or detailed mechanical designs may want a much more specific reference. Keep A2CL distinct from the Cloud Bag, which the official story also links: liking the same character does not mean wanting to wear it. The useful question is whether the recipient wants an object to accompany their space, or an accessory to carry outside.
