A character without a rules box
For someone who returns to a favourite FINAL FANTASY character for the illustration, the art card has a clear purpose. Wizards’ summer 2025 gallery contains 53 designs, with Cloud, Ex-SOLDIER shown as an example. The stamped and unstamped versions use the same underlying image. Choose the picture you want to revisit; the stamped treatment is a printed collectible variation, not evidence that an artist personally signed that individual card.
The token has a job at the table
The corresponding token gallery serves a different interest. It lists 23 full-art token designs plus an emblem, including eight Hero depictions from FINAL FANTASY XIV. These pieces help represent objects or states created during a game. If your enjoyment comes from seeing the right Hero beside your deck, identify the token your cards actually create rather than choosing only a matching character name.
Neither is a ready-to-play deck
Wizards explicitly defines art cards as non-playable collectibles. A token is also not a substitute for the card or deck that creates it. A picture-led collection can therefore start with one loved art card, while a player may prefer the specific tracking piece missing from their table. Keep the summer pool separate from later scene-box art cards; a shared franchise name does not make those checklists identical.
