The ordinary book is already a substantial invitation
If your reason for returning to Arcane is Piltover's architecture, a character's early design or the work behind the images, begin with the standard The Art and Making of Arcane. Insight Editions describes development art and creator interviews, and its contents include fold-out spreads from seasons one and two. Fortiche likewise describes opening its archive across both seasons. You do not need to interpret Artifact as the edition that finally admits the second season.
The standard edition also lists a Jinx poster, a removable Piltover map, a blueprint and a Vander letter. Choosing it does not mean choosing a book stripped of every physical extra. Its acetate jacket is specifically described for that edition, so a different cover is a real preference rather than a simple ladder from incomplete to complete.
The record tells a more specific story than the box
Artifact adds an ensemble that includes Vi and Jinx bookend statues, an eight-page Progress Day booklet, art prints and a vinyl album. Crucially, the publisher identifies the record as 22 scored songs from Season 1. A book drawing on both seasons and a record drawn from the first season can coexist in the same collection. The book's scope does not silently expand the audio selection.
For someone especially attached to the first season's music and these particular objects, that combination can be the attraction. Someone mainly seeking second-season visual material has a different reason to choose. Neither reader needs to treat the larger package as a compulsory next step in appreciating the series.
Give the additional objects a place in the decision
Imagine what would stay out after the parcel is opened: the book beside a drawing desk, the statues on display, or the record in a listening collection. Consider Artifact when those named objects are themselves wanted. Keep the standard book on the shortlist when reading the production material is the purpose. The publisher also identifies two interior foldouts exclusive to Artifact; that is a specific extra, not evidence that the ordinary edition lacks all second-season pages. Choose the part of this world you want to spend time with, rather than letting the biggest box define the hobby.
