Action Base 6 or 7: compact small-model support or a 1/144 candidate?

Read Bandai’s two support descriptions without inventing a universal weight rating or assuming the next number fits every kit.

The number is not a weight rating

Action Base 6 and Action Base 7 are both sold as clear support sets, but the product number alone cannot select a stand for a particular Gundam. Compare the exact support description, the model’s attachment instructions and the pose you intend to keep. A flying photograph does not establish a safe connection for another kit, and neither of the two product pages supplies a universal load limit for all figures.

What the Base 6 record actually says

Bandai describes Base 6 for small plastic models. Its base is approximately 90 by 60 mm, with three support pieces per set and a choice of shaft joint or C-shaped arm at the end. There are two sets in the package. This gives a buyer a concrete compact-base and connection question, rather than permission to assume an unusually wide, heavy or off-centre model belongs on it.

What changes in the Base 7 description

Base 7 is described around supporting 1/144 plastic models, including bulkier machines and floating poses, with moving axes and different joint and arm parts. Its contents again specify two bases and two supports. The useful distinction is the manufacturer’s intended class and construction emphasis. It is not evidence that Base 7 has a stated multiple of Base 6’s strength or that every 1/144 kit uses the same connector.

Follow the kit at the connection

Before choosing either set, open the model’s own instructions and identify its display adapter, if one is required. Then match that instruction to the actual parts supplied with the chosen base. Keep optional weapons and projecting wings in the question because they can change the arrangement you are trying to support. Do not solve an uncertain fit by forcing a clamp across a painted or fragile area.

Buy only the arrangement you can explain

A useful shortlist note might read: small model, documented C-arm fit, compact Base 6 footprint. Another might read: exact 1/144 kit with its specified adapter, requiring further Base 7 confirmation for the intended raised pose. If the second note still contains an unanswered compatibility question, leave it unanswered until the maker or seller supplies evidence. Put the model-specific adapter name in that note so a later spare-part purchase does not start again from a photograph. Two included supports do not make two uncertain connections into a complete display plan.
