Begin with the six-character box

Ravensburger's current The Worst Takes It All record, article 60001739, names Captain Hook, Maleficent, Jafar, Ursula, the Queen of Hearts and Prince John. Its inventory lists 180 Villain cards and 90 Fate cards. A pile with that combined total is not enough to show that each character's materials are present.

The original instructions provide a useful subdivision

The publisher-hosted USe02 rules list six Villain decks of 30 cards and six Fate decks of 15. Setup assigns a player the corresponding board, mover, Villain deck, Fate deck and Villain Guide, plus a reference card. Sort by that relationship before planning a return game: a correctly sized deck belonging to another character cannot silently fill a gap.

This gives a concrete inspection task. Identify the chosen character's two separate decks and guide, then compare them with the rulebook for that copy. A complete aggregate count can still conceal cards mixed into the wrong character group.

Keep the edition difference visible

The USe02 inventory explicitly includes a cauldron and subdivides its 84 tokens into 80 Power tokens, three Lock tokens and one Fate token. The current US product's contents text lists84 tokens but does not list a cauldron. Preserve that difference rather than declaring a particular box incomplete from whichever web list appears first.

Record the title, language and rulebook identifier of the copy in front of you. Then describe unresolved components specifically. These records help prepare an actual game; they do not inspect a seller's used copy or establish that parts from another Villainous title are interchangeable.
