Want the little object, or want a handheld library?
The Space Invaders Super Micro Keychain Gamer is appealing when the point is a small object dedicated to that one game. Its fixed identity is part of the attraction: turn it on and return to Space Invaders. It does not need to be justified as the beginning of a large game collection.
The Taito Super Pocket is the stronger candidate if Space Invaders is only the starting point. It also includes other Taito games and documents optional Evercade cartridges. Buy that format when switching among games and expanding the library are activities you actually want.
They do not share a charging routine
Super Micro uses three AAA batteries, which are not included. The Super Pocket documents USB-C charging. Choose a routine you are willing to maintain instead of assuming every small modern game device recharges through USB. The replaceable-battery object and the rechargeable handheld ask for different preparation.
The displays also differ: Super Micro lists a two-inch TFT, while Super Pocket lists a 2.8-inch IPS display. Those facts establish different formats; they do not establish which controls will feel better or how either screen will look in your usual lighting.
Do not pay for a future you do not want
For someone who specifically wants the Space Invaders keychain as an everyday game-themed object, Super Micro has a clear role. For someone who expects a main retro handheld, choosing it only because it shares a familiar game name may be disappointing. The Taito Super Pocket has the documented library and expansion route for that broader use.
Neither choice requires a promise to collect every edition. Decide whether the small, fixed object is itself the pleasure, or whether it would leave you wanting a fuller game library immediately.
