Liking the creature is only the first clue
A person who enjoys Cthulhu may collect books, games or miniatures without wanting a round plush version. Start by finding out whether a soft character object belongs in their collection at all. If it does, Squishable’s Mini Cthulhu and Mini Baby Cthulhu are two named interpretations to consider, rather than treating every green, tentacled object as the same gift.
“Baby” is not a size comparison
The official Mini Cthulhu specification is 7.5 inches wide, 6.7 deep and 7.7 high. Mini Baby Cthulhu is listed at 9 inches wide, 8 deep and 9 high. Both use the Mini label, yet the Baby is larger along all three stated axes. Neither the family name nor the word “Baby” is a reliable shortcut for the smaller object.
The manufacturer credits Zoe F. for Mini Cthulhu and Pat H. for Mini Baby Cthulhu; both pages list polyester fiber. These identify two specific products, not different names for one exact piece. Ask which interpretation the recipient likes and use the dimensions for the place they have in mind. The specification does not tell you how either will feel in their hands.
Keep one choice for the recipient and another for yourself
You can ask “Would a plush Cthulhu be welcome, and do you already have either of these?” without asking to inspect a private collection. If they willingly share a current wishlist, follow the exact name instead of buying a near-match because it also says Mini.
Once the form and version are right, the surprise can be the occasion or your accompanying note. If they prefer the unsettling creature in print, respect that answer: a cuter interpretation is not automatically an improvement on the thing they already love.
